SAARA partners with Mental Health America Virginia and DBHDS-Office of Recovery Services to support Peer Recovery Support Professionals.

Virginia's growing workforce of Peer Professionals has experienced significant challenges and stress under the weight of providing services to individuals with increasing needs during a pandemic. In an effort to address this concern among the peer recovery workforce, SAARA, MHAV, and DBHDS-ORS have partnered to offer peer support for peer supporters support groups. These virtual groups welcome Virginia Peer Professionals working full-time, part-time, interning, or volunteering.

These free weekly 90 minutes facilitated peer support groups will be conducted over Zoom. The facilitator will use best practices to address the challenging climb for peers in the workforce based on the Virginia DBHDS Office of Recovery Services PRS Training manual and guiding documents.
