SAARA's Executive Director - Victor McKenzie Jr, appointed to Opioid Abatement Authority.

Richmond, VA Joining us in congratulating SAARA executive director Victor McKenzie, Jr. on his appointment to the Opioid Abatement Authority ‪by Governor Northam

“I'm honored to be appointed by Governor Northam to the Opioid Abatement Authority. I look forward to working with other members and leaders across the commonwealth to combat the opioid epidemic through financial support from the Fund.

Addiction is not a moral failing, but it’s a complex and treatable disease; we know a life of recovery is possible when treatment and resources are easily accessible, ensuring that there’s proper funding to these programs is the first step.” said Victor.

The newly established Opioid Abatement Authority purpose is to bate and remediate the opioid epidemic in the Commonwealth through financial support from the Fund, in the form of grants, donations, or other assistance, for efforts to treat, prevent, and reduce opioid use disorder and the misuse of opioids in the Commonwealth.
